Why We Made This Gurmukhi Video

When we set out to make the Gurmukhi - Punjabi alphabet video, our goal was simple — create something our kids would actually enjoy watching and learning from. We wanted clear pronunciation, bright visuals, and a pace that made it easy for young minds to follow along. Most importantly, we wanted it to feel familiar and fun, like the shows and apps they already love, but in our own language.

This video is just one piece of a bigger picture. We're building the DesiBolo app because we saw a gap. Most language tools either feel too academic or aren't made with bilingual families in mind. As parents, we want our children to grow up confident in their identity, and that includes being able to speak and understand Punjabi.

DesiBolo is our way of making sure our kids don’t lose that connection to their roots. Through stories, quizzes, games, and songs, we’re creating a space where learning desi languages doesn’t feel like a chore. It feels like play.

This is just the start, and we’re excited to keep building more content for families like ours.
